EST 1072, Blog post 2: Internet Addiction

Internet addiction is defined as can live without internet, you will always want to use it and keep thinking about things on the internet. There are many forms of internet addiction. For example, if you find yourself checking your messages every ten minutes you may be addicted to social media as a form of internet addiction. Or if you don’t seem to be able to  stop playing internet games, even in the classroom, you may have what’s called an online gaming addiction.

Internet addiction can cause many problems at home, at school and maybe cause problems with your friends. For example, parents doesn't want you to use the internet for so long it's bad to your health and they will also want you to share your life with them not shut yourself in your room every time you get back home. At school, internet addiction can cause students to not concentrate in the class and it will cause students' grade getting lower and lower. For families, internet addiction can lead to a broken family relationship because you didn't spend time with them.

Are you addicted to the internet. Ask yourself the following questions and see.
  1. Do…?
  2. Are…?
  3. Do you …?

If you answered yes to these questions, you may be addicted to the internet. In case  you are addicted to the internet, you can try doing the following to get better.

Firstly you should stop focus on the internet.

Secondly, you can spend more time with your friends and family.

Finally, you should do more exercise or read some books.

To be an internet addict or not to be; that is the question, the choice yours.
